What "AI automation" actually means here
AI automation means using a language model to do a specific, bounded job inside a workflow that already exists — not replacing the workflow with a chatbot. The model reads something, decides something, or writes a first draft of something, and the surrounding software handles the rest.
The distinction matters because most of what gets sold as AI automation is a chat window bolted onto a product. A chat window moves the work to a different place; it does not remove it. The test Avokodo applies is simple: does this take hours off someone's week without adding a new thing for them to check?
Four jobs AI does reliably today
These are the ones that hold up in production. They share a shape: a narrow task, a checkable output, and a human in the loop where the cost of being wrong is real.
- Reading documents and extracting data
- Invoices, delivery notes, purchase orders, application forms, contracts. The model pulls out the fields you care about and the software writes them into your system, so nobody re-types a PDF into a CRM.
- Classifying and routing incoming work
- Deciding what a message or request is, how urgent it is, and who should handle it. This is where most of the quiet hours go in small ops teams, and it is the job models are best at.
- Drafting replies and summaries
- A first draft of a response, a summary of a long thread, notes from a call. A person still approves it — the saving is in not starting from a blank page thirty times a day.
- Matching and reconciling
- Comparing records that should agree but never quite do — a payment against an invoice, a delivery against an order — and flagging only the ones that genuinely need a human.
What Avokodo won't build
Being specific about this is more useful than another list of capabilities.
- Chatbot theatre
- A chat window on your website or intranet that answers questions nobody was asking. It demos well and changes nothing.
- Unguarded agents with write access
- A model that can take irreversible actions in your systems without a person confirming. The failure mode is quiet, expensive and hard to unwind.
- AI where a rule would do
- If the decision is "if the amount is over 500, send it to Sarah", that is an if-statement. It is cheaper, faster and it never has an off day.
- Anything needing accuracy nobody is checking
- If a wrong answer causes real harm and no human sees the output, the workflow needs redesigning before it needs a model.
How AI fits a workflow you already have
Avokodo does not replace the systems you run. The CRM stays, the accounting package stays, the inbox stays. What gets built is the layer between them: something that watches for the work arriving, applies the model to the narrow part where judgement is needed, writes the result back into the system of record, and escalates the cases it is not confident about.
That last part is the one most implementations skip. A model that is right 92% of the time is useful when the other 8% is flagged and handled by a person; it is a liability when it is silently wrong and nobody finds out for a month. Confidence thresholds and an exceptions queue are part of the build, not an upgrade.

Why not just use ChatGPT for this?
For occasional one-off tasks, a ChatGPT subscription is the right answer and cheaper. It stops being the answer when the work arrives continuously, needs to land in another system afterwards, or has to happen without somebody remembering to paste it in.
What happens when the AI gets something wrong?
The build is designed on the assumption that it will. Low-confidence cases go to an exceptions queue for a person rather than through silently, and the actions a model can take on its own are deliberately limited to reversible ones.
